Comments About Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity:
The first time I seen Dr. Dyer I was very impressed, he explained the surgery and the risks. I went to have my surgery in Aug. of 07 and I had a bleeder to my spleen and he got it stopped and decided to close. So, I was really afraid of having it done again but the more I talked to him I decided to try again. Feb. 08, I had my surgery done. As of today May 16, 08 I have lost aroung 87 lbs and I'm feeling great, just getting sick of chicken and tuna. I also think his staff is great and the hospital staff was #1. The night of my surgery, we had tornado warning and they really made me feel safe. Dr. Dyer has one of the best bedside manners and I rate his overall #10.

Comments About Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity:
I was surprised at the kindness of Dr. Dyer and his staff when I went in for my initial consultation. After all of the information that I was given, and the research I had done, I was still terrified of the surgery and what "could" happen. Those concerns were put to rest after speaking with the dr's staff and others who had the surger. His staff are very kind and warm and make you feel like they are genuinely concerned about you. I had my surgery on May 5, 08 and went to my first aftercare visit and to have my drain removed - that was not much to do at all. Taking care of the "wounds" are the worst part of it but Dr. Dyer and his staff made me comfortable with that as well. I would certainly rate him a 10 out of 10. He is really a nice and caring doctor and listened to my concerns. I feel that surgical competence is MUCH better than bedside manner but Dr. Dyer certainly does not lack bedside manner and the nursing staff at Centennial Medical Center, especially Cara and Angela are the best that I have ever known... they were perfect angels and very caring and took great care of me in my families absence. I don't regret a thing!!! And I'm glad that I chose the doctor and hospital that I chose, I was 110% satisfied.

Comments About Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity:
I had reached my point of desparation Fall 2007. I did research on the internet and came across this group of physicians. I loved their holistic/multidisciplinary approach and thorough aftercare program. I went to the educational seminar and met Dr. Olsen who I liked but was impressed with Dr. Houston's stats so I scheduled an appt to meet with him. The minute I met him, I KNEW he was my surgeon. He is matter-of -fact, letting you know that the surgery is a tool but you must follow the entire program for best results. He lets you know that he and his staff are literally your partners as you begin the journey into your new life! The office staff is great and Holly is the gem at the top!! She worked so hard with me getting all the approvals from BCBS! I had my surgery Monday May 5th and I am sitting home today...still sore but doing GREAT! No complications at all! He even found a hiatal hernia and worked the surgery around that obstacle....took him a little longer but he did it! He was caring and compassionate and always truthful. The nurses at Centennial have great respect for him and since I'm a nurse, that speaks VOLUMES to me and again let me know I made a good decision. I never felt condemnation for my weight....only an incredible hope that with his help, and my determination, that will change. He and his team exceed excellence as far as I'm concerned and I would recommend them to EVERYONE!!!!!

Comments About Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity:
I was really nervous when I went for my first consult with Dr David Dyer, but as soon as he came in the room and shook my hand he made me feel much better. He made sure that I understood all that was to come with the surgery that I had selected, the risks and the benefits, and he answered all of my questions in great detail. His office staff is wonderful, they are the sweetest women and I enjoy getting to see them. There is nothing that I would change at all!!! I think anyone looking to have surgery with Dr Dyer has chosen wisely, he is caring and compassionate he is a wonderful surgeon. He emphazies aftercare every visit, they really encourage the aftercare program. He is a great surgeon and a great Dr to have, I am recently out of surgery and I look forward to having him for my Dr for all of the follow-up care. I believe that all is important to the care of a patient, they like to feel secure in their decision and like to know that their surgeon cares, it is also comforting to know that the sugeon that you choose is competient in what he is doing and I feel that is why the consult is so very important, to get a feel for each other. I HIGHLY recommend Dr David Dyer, I just love him he is wonderful!!!! Thanks, Sherry

Comments About Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity:
Dr. Dyer is great, he is very easy to talk to and cares a great deal about each person that he speaks with. His office staff is very helpful and friendly. Dr. Dyer explains everything in detail and gives the pros and cons of the surgery and after surgery if you have any question all you have to do is call and he calls you back. He cares about not only your health and success, he also cares about you as a person.

Comments About Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity:
I was very impressed with DR Houston. This was something I had been thinking about for three years. It finally got to the point where my health was going down hill quickly. Dr Houston was the second Doctor that I had seen. The first Doctor was not very sure if I could even have the surgery. I have had two previous surgery in my stomach area and that causes a promblem for the surgery. Dr Houston was very straight forward with me and told me that it could be done. That it would be a very hard surgery to complete, but that it could be done. I finally felt like I had hope. I feel like Dr Houston has saved my life. I trust him and know that he will take good care of me.

Comments About Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity:
I have found Dr. Hugh Houston to be very professional and matter of fact. Everyone is different but for me, I want a surgeon that is confident and a bit arrogant about his profession. I have found Dr. Houston to be both kind and to the point, he does not candy coat things, he'll let you know that it won't be easy but if you follow his lead he'll get you to your goal. I find the office staff especially Holly to be very helpful. The aftercare program is just beginning for me but so far I have met with the dietician and that was very positive.

Comments About Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity:
Most of the people that I know who have had weight loss surgery have used Dr. Dyer. That told me something. He's been doing this just about as long as anyone and he knows his stuff. The Centennial Center is a Center of Excellence and there is a reason for that. They have this down to an art. Many of the staff in the office have had the surgery and that makes patients feel very positive about the choice they have made. I would chose Dr. Dyer all over again.

Comments About Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity:
When I first met Dr. Dyer, I knew I had made the right decision. He made me feel comfortable. I had my surgery on March 11th, 2008 and I am already feeling better about myself and walking around a lot better than before. He educated me about the surgery and put my mind at ease. He has great bedside manners and made sure that I had everything I needed while I was in the hospital. I recommend him as a surgeon to anyone thinking of having the surgery.
