I was 480 pounds at my heaviest. I met with Dr. Houston on 1/18 and got insurance approval on 02/01. I had my Duodenal Switch surgery on 02/24/2009. Since my highest weight I have lost a total of 191 pounds. I feel so much healthier and happier. I can now ride roller coasters and I actually fit in the seat in an airplane. Dr. Houston saved my life with this surgery.

I am one month out from surgery. Feeling great! I've lost 30 lbs so far, one size in pants and almost 2 in tops! I'm walking my mile and have joined Curves. I'm being called the "Incredible Shrinking Woman" at work, each day my clothes fit differently and I'm losing it seems a pound a day. Dr. Dyer and his staff have changed my life - he is wonderful and so caring and dedicated to the success of his patients! This pic is from 7/29 w/my best friend since first grade! I feel wonderful and don't mind my picture being taken now lol! I'm looking forward to vacation in September and being even more slender and healthy by then.

I was 355 pounds at my heaviest. It has been almost 8 months since I had surgery and now I am 224. I have never felt as well as I do now. I have so much more energy now that I have lost the weight. My aches and pains have all disappeared. I don't take any more of my medication. The only pills I take is all of my vitamins. I am glad that I had my surgery and I would recommend it to anyone. Doctor Dyer has taking very good care of me through everything I have endured. I thank him very much for everything that he has done for me and for taking such good care of me. Everyone in his office is precious and has a good heart. May God bless them and I thank everyone of them for everything that they have done for me. Dr. Dyer thank you for giving me the life I have now. I am living now where before I was just existing. God bless you and thank you.

I can't say enough good about Dr. Dyer and his staff. He is so caring and so respectful of his patient's dignity. He was very helpful to my family during my stay at the hospital and his visits were helpful and comforting to me as a patient. It has been almost 3 months since my surgery and I have lost 52 pounds so far. I am not taking any blood pressure medications (previously I took 3 a day) and Type 2 diabetes is no longer an issue. I have more energy than ever and look forward to each new day! What a great experience!

I now have two birthdays per year....the one on which my mother gave birth to me, and the one in which i was 'reborn', thanks to Dr Douglas Olsen. For many years I longed to have gastric bypass surgery. Finally, the time and place worked out and I found Dr Olsen. I weighed 339 lbs on June 25, 2008, the date of my surgery. Today is July 6, 2009 and I currently weigh 189 lbs. Sometimes it is so hard to believe!! I only wish I could have done it sooner! Dr Olsen and all of his staff have been kind, patient and understanding during each and every step I have taken this last year. I would recommend them to anyone...and have done so many times!

I'm just one week today past surgery but I'm already down 17 lbs! I feel good. Dr. Dyer is awesome as are his staff; and the wonderful nurses at Centennial! I'm looking forward to meeting with the counselors for nutrition and exercise. My treadmill is no longer someplace to hang what needs ironing!!! Onward to my new 'life'!

Wow what can I say .Dr. Dyer and his team are great, supportive and a Class act . From the moment I met him Dr, Dyer has been a caring professional , I know others have said that before but this gentleman is one. I would highly reccomend him and his team. I have had several friends who had this surgery and so far my experience has been the best I have heard of. Nothing but praise for the hospital staff. I would advise anyone to use centennial as the hospital of choice for anything they need.

Dr. Houston saved my life! It took me over 5 years and 3 seminars to make the decision of having a gastric bypass. I was diagnosed with pseudo tumor cerebri over 10 years ago and if I did not lose weight, I would eventually be blind. I chose Dr. Houston because for some reason he was always the speaker at the seminars I chose to go to and I liked his sense of humor. Dr. Houston no nonsense approach to getting you healthy was something I truly liked about him. Currently, I am 130 lbs lighter and I feel so much better. Better yet the pseudo tumor cerebri is gone. Thanks Dr. Houston and Centennial Bariatrics.

I want to thank Dr. Dyer for all he has done for Me to help save my life.. I was very unhealthy and on about 30 different Perscription Meds and thanks to him and the gastric by pass surgery I am now down to only 2. I no longer suffer with my asthma or gastric reflux just to name a few. To be able to get up and down out of a chair without any pain especailly in my knees is a blessing in itself. To climb on a chair without struggling to pull my self up due to the knee pain and the weight is such a good feeling. I have struggled with weight all my life and called myself, on many occasions a professional dieter. I no longer feel like I am on a diet and what a good feeling that is. This surgery, by no means was a easy way out but well worth every thing you go through to get it.. Thanks Dr. Dyer for saving my life. I have lost 75 pounds so far, OH what a wonderful journey....

I highly recommend Dr. Dyer. I would recommend him to family and friends. He did my gastric bypass surgery and repaired my hernia in the same procedure. Everything went perfectly with no complications. Dr. Dyer is a caring, consummate professional. The team at the Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity is great. Sherry, Pam H, Kathy, and Dr. Dyer's staff, Joanna and Robin are all very helpful. The free, lifetime aftercare is what makes Centennial the best. It includes all follow ups with Dr. Dyer, a dietitian, and an exercise physiologist. Also, the support groups led by Dr. Ihrig and Dr. Livengood are excellent. These free support groups really helped me before surgery and are key to long term post-surgery success.
